i wrote a 365 book [20 Jul 2009|10:15am] selfportraits [thenshesaidno] guys, i just wrote a book. in an hour. it's nowhere near done (obviously, it's held together with clips) but guys, this only took an hour. it's a book of 365 suggestions: things that i want to try, things i think other people would have fun trying, and things i want to see photographs of. ( more ) i kind of think of this as 365's answer to Keri Smith's Wreck this Journal. not that i'm comparing myself to the genius of Keri Smith or this book to the godsend that is Wreck this Journal. it just has the same sort of simple suggestions that lead to creative self exploration as her books have. and that makes me happy. some pages include: -write something on your skin. photograph it. -look at someone else's self portrait that you dislike. list the ways you would have made the shot better if it was yours. do it. -take one week of green portraits. in grass. in a tree. in a green shirt. on a green bike. by a green car. eating green food. etc. -look at photographs of yourself as a child. find one you love. copy it (to the best of your ability.) -take a picture from an unflattering angle. be okay with it. (this may take some time.) so my question is, would you read a book of 365 suggestions? if i made a series of these little books, would you be interested in buying a copy (no promises yet!! i am definitely not at the selling point yet, but it's nice to think about.) tell me what you think :) 7 comments|post comment
